  Arts-In-Education: Teacher Workshops

TEACHERS – LEARN HOW TO USE THE ARTS IN YOUR CLASSROOMS!

WORKSHOP SERIES DECEMBER 2007 - MAY 2008

“ARTS LEARNING FOR EVERYDAY TEACHERS”

Quad City Arts' arts-in-education workshop series offers a fun way for educators to learn how to use the arts in their classrooms, and earn credit while doing it! Led by professional educators, these interactive sessions feature presenters from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, nationally-renowned artists from the Visiting Artist Series and local educators with years of arts education experience. Teachers of all grade levels and specialty areas can learn useful techniques for using the arts of all disciplines in their classrooms. It’s also a great introduction for principals and administrators to experience new trends in education.

Six sessions will be held from December to May, and run from 4-7 p.m. Substantial snacks (called “superb” by at least one teacher!) help keep everyone fueled for small group discussions, hands-on activities and interaction with peers. Every workshop includes time for questions and answers.

Iowa educators who attend the entire series will be eligible for staff development credit through the Mississippi Bend AEA (additional fees apply). Illinois teachers may receive hour-for-hour CPDU credit (continuing professional development units) certified through the Illinois State Board of Education. Interested teachers from all districts on both sides of the river may complete the entire series for one graduate credit through Drake University. The workshops may also be taken individually.

This program offers teachers:

Cost is just $15 per workshop. Save and sign up for the entire series for just $50. Additional fees apply based on the type of credit desired. Contact Susan for more information, (309) 793-1213 x105, or e-mail.
