CARP, Volume 5 | SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Quad City
Arts’ national literary journal Buffalo Carp is planning its fifth
edition and is in search of a piece
of art for the cover. The journal is an eclectic
collection of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction of previously
unpublished contemporary literature. Past journals have defied easy
classification with the content ranging from factual to fanciful,
from fascinating to frightening, and everything in between. · All genres, subject matter and types of art will be considered. · Submit artwork in slide format or on a CD in a best quality (no compression)1200 dpi jpeg. · The artwork may be horizontal or vertical. It will be incorporated into a cover design that may wrap around the 6” x 9” journal or may be highlighted on the front cover only. Requirements for Submission: · 1 slide or image per piece, maximum of 3 entries · Each slide labeled with name, title, date completed and TOP indicated · Submission form(s) with name and contact information, title of work, and date completed · SASE for return of entries · Artists must reside within 250 miles of the Quad City area Selection Process: Entries will be juried by the Literary Arts Committee. The committee will narrow the selections until six final pieces are decided upon. Then they will select the cover art from these six pieces. They will look for art that best captures the spirit of the publication. Awards · $200 award to the artist of the selected artwork. · The selected artwork title, artist, and year created will be listed on the copyright page. · 5 copies of the Buffalo Carp journal.
