Featuring six benefit parties with featured artists from our Visiting Artist Series, guests can once again enjoy an evening of complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, friendly conversation and a spotlight performance with incredible artists from different cultural backgrounds.
This intimate VIP experience provides the opportunity for Q&A and up-close conversation with the artist. Through the generous support of our sponsors and community partners, each event is held at unique venues through Quad Cities, so no two events are alike. All proceeds benefit arts education and enrichment for over 30,000 K-12 students each year through the Visiting Artist Series program. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 Time: 6:30 PM Location: Davenport Country Club 25500 Valley Dr, Pleasant Valley, IA 52767 Invoke describes themselves as a “bowed and fretted string quartet”. The music of this multi-instrumental band encompasses traditions from across America, including bluegrass, Appalachian fiddle tunes, jazz, and minimalism. Invoke weaves all of these styles together to create truly individual music, written by and for the group. Invoke has performed with musicians of widely varying genres, from the Ensō Quartet, to chamber rock powerhouse San Fermin, to beatboxer/rapper/spoons virtuoso Christylez Bacon.

Bassel and the SupernaturalsSyrian-American funk and soul band
Thursday, October 21, 2021 Time: 6:30 PM Location: Redstone Room, 129 Main St., Davenport, IA 52801 Bassel & The Supernaturals tells the story of Bassel Almadani's experience as a first generation Syrian-American using soulful melodies, funk inspired rhythms, and captivating lyrics regarding love, loss, and the war in Syria. Deeply inspired by Otis Redding, Bassel uses the stage as a vehicle to engage audiences at SXSW, John F. Kennedy Center, and Summerfest, among others. In addition to performing in major festivals, performance halls, concert series, and clubs - the group works closely with organizations on events and residencies that build awareness and empathy for Syrian refugees.

Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 Time: 6:30 PM Location: CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe 701 12th Street., Moline, IL 61265 Barron Ryan's love for music has always been divided. The son of two musicians, he grew up in a house filled with the sounds of artists ranging from Chopin to James Brown. So he’s not content drawing on just one influence — he combines them all into a musical adventure that’s vintage yet fresh, historical yet hip, classic yet cool. His latest album, titled “The Masters’ Apprentice”, covers 11 jazz pianos legends’ recorded improvisations, that he meticulously transcribed, and learned to perform.

Hiplet BalletClassical ballet/hip-hop fusion
Wednesday, March 2, 2022 Time: 6:30 PM Location: Rogalski Center, 518 W. Locust St., Davenport, IA Sponsored by: Hiplet fuses classical pointe technique with African, Latin, Hip-Hop and urban dance styles rooted in communities of color. It was designed to make ballet accessible to all, by mixing it with current popular songs that will be familiar to audiences who don’t normally attend ballet performances. Performances may incorporate the rhythms of African drums with Tchaikovsky, arabesques and beat-boxing en pointe - all while showcasing Hiplet's trademark sass.

Jarabe MexicanoMexican folk/rock quintet
Thursday, April 7, 2022 Time: 6:30 PM Location: Boys & Girls Club Ontiveros Teen Center 1122 5th Avenue, Moline, IL Sponsored by: Jarabe Mexicano invites audiences on a joyride through a versatile songbook of Mexican Folk as well as Rock & Roll, Tex-Mex, Latin Rock, and Reggae-Cumbia. Performing on stringed folk instruments accompanied by lively percussion, Jarabe’s dramatic, harmonized vocals in Spanish and English have gained them the admiration of audiences across the country.
The quintet’s eclectic border spirit stands out. Cultural anthropologist, distinguished author, and admirer Dr. Alejandro Lugo raves that Jarabe's musicians "are truly excellent and bring new blood to the musical traditions they perform... their version of La Malagueña is simply the best I've heard in decades, if not ever."
