Calling all Metro Arts Apprentices, past and present! Quad City Arts
is seeking a new super cool designer to give us a FRESH perspective and an innovative design for our next T-shirt.

YOUR MISSION: Design the coolest most absolutely awesome tee.
Remember that time you saw the coolest design ever in the whole wide world? And you were like, “Never in my lifetime will there be a design cooler than that.” Well, get ready to bite your tongue, because there will be. And you’re going to create it. And then, you’ll be $200 richer.

Design Direction
We’re looking for a design that celebrates who we are as artists and creatives. Please use our many programs as inspiration. Bust most of all, have FUN with the design. We know we’re delightfully weird, and we want that to come through this design.

Design Guidelines
  • Must include Quad City Arts logo and branding
  • Design must be two color max (printed on red, black or white tshirts)
  • Design must be in high resolution and to be submitted as a .jpg, .png, .pdf, .ai, or .psd file
  • Printing area cannot be larger than 11" wide x 15" tall (Download template below)

Eligibility/Entry
There is no entry fee to submit a design. Must be 15-21 years old. One design submission per person.

Important Dates
  • Submit your design by July 17, 2023
  • Announcement of contest winner July 24, 2023

Fine Print
By submitting an entry, the artist consents that it is their own original work and that they have all necessary rights and permissions to use any included elements. The t-shirt contest team reserves the right to make adjustments and alterations to the winning entry.

The winning artist grants to Quad City Arts the exclusive right to the design, including any modifications thereof, to be used on a t-shirt and on the web. Future uses outside t-shirt and web use will be negotiated with the artist.

The artist shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Quad City Arts from and against any and all suits, actions, claims, damages, liabilities, judgments, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of any violation of third party rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property infringement, misappropriation, dilution or violation) in connection with Quad City Arts use, distribution, publishing, sale or exploitation of the design. No submissions will be returned.

Proceeds from the sales of these t-shirts will support Quad City Arts programs, like the Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship Program.

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:
  • Originality
  • Visibility – Is it eye catching
  • Feasibility – Must be easy to reproduce
