SECOND AVENUE WINDOW AT QUAD CITY ARTS' ROCK ISLAND GALLERY
JUNE 11 - AUGUST, 2021
Cathy Staker
Surrounded by artists in my family growing up, I fell in love with art at a young age. However, I only seriously took up painting after retirement and my children have grown. First starting in acrylics for the first few years, then eventually working primarily in oil paints, I have been experimenting with different surfaces and styles to make my body of work. I take inspiration from the nature I experience every day, whether it is the sun setting, the flowing of rivers, or the clouds and the sky, focusing on the many colors it provides.
